Reporting is the critical component for any ITSM/ITAM products. And with HPE Asset Manager, our customers heavily use widgets to interact with Asset Manager (AM) data. The new AM web UI with simplified widgets UI enables AM administrators to create widgets and assign them to user profiles in minutes. I wanted to share some of the commonly used widgets from the 40+ out-of-the-box widgets.
SAM Widgets : Identify non-compliant software vendors and software titles with a one-click interface using these SAM widgets. Proactive reporting helps customers to avoid software audits. Identifying overspending, non compliant software titles, over usage counters helps to optimize software titles and increase compliance. Software usage data from Universal Discovery is used with asset manager to enable license optimization.
Asset Inventory Widgets : This is a simplified drill down of IT assets with web UI. Our customers frequently use these drill down reports to track assets and helps consumption of asset manager data across organizations.
AM Administration tasks : Using AM widgets, track daily AM requests, tasks and assets that need updating.
Total Cost of ownership : Using AM widgets, our customers track over spending assets and total cost of ownership with single clicks.
IT Chargeback and show back : Customers can track IT spending based on the cost center and internal business units. Our customers use UCMDB service models and integrate it with Asset Manager to compute IT chargeback/showback of IT services to business units.
Cloud billing/usage : With HPE Cloud system automation and Cloud billing, customers can leverage AM cloud billing widgets to get visibility on subscriptions and billing information.
Health Check Reports : Gain visibility on computers not being scanned in days and more insights on discovery data which miss critical discovery data like CPU core information which are needed for SAM counters like oracle, IBM.
Final Thoughts : Simplified user experience and enhanced reporting enables ITAM and SAM users to get quick value out of HPE Asset Manager. Learn more about HPE Universal Discovery/UCMDB and Asset Manager capabilities here.
